i think i am going to stick to the hv40. It has way better quality than the dvx100a and dvx100b. Even when you upres the dvx footage it still doesn't look as good as the hv40.

A canon hv40 is no where near the cost of those cameras. I am getting the hv40 new for $945. I can't afford a $2000 camera right now. Its a stellar camera for the price and can take very nice shots. I'm not going to throw down a bunch of money on a camera until after film school anyways. And even then i will probably keep this as a second camera since it is so good. Friends
